Olcott Oration - 2010

The Olcott Oration organized by the Ananda College Old Boys’ Association to commemorate the founders of Ananda is held annually in November. This year’s oration will be held on Saturday, November 6, at the Kularatne Auditorium of Ananda College, Colombo 10 with proceedings commencing at 4.30 pm.

The oration will be delivered by a distinguished old Anandian Mr Ravinatha Pandukabhaya Aryasinha Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Belgium, Luxembourg and to the European Union. The subject of his presentation is ‘Moderating Competing Narratives: The Challenge of Re-casting Sri Lanka’s Image Abroad’ and will focus on the challenges Sri Lanka’s foreign policy is faced with in the light of the pressures exerted by the Sri Lankan Diaspora in Europe, USA, Canada, Australia, Scandinavian countries etc. especially in the light of the controversies surrounding GSP plus, human rights and other issues.
